Interview with Swim Deep

New indie band Swim Deep takes some time out to talk to the MyFlashTrash team about their style and what jewellery pieces they like...

MFT: So Swim Deep who are you?

SD: Swim Deep are Austin Higgy and Zachary from the exotic Birmingham on sands....

MFT: Where can you imagine people listening to your music?

SD: We imagine and encourage people listening to our music on the beach with a cocktail getting friendly with the sun. Or In the office, photocopying life away, day dreaming.

MFT: What do you want people to feel when listening to you?

SD: We want people to feel like they've been taken to Neverland and been given a beer. We want to make music that people physically and mentally get warm/wet listening to.

MFT: Describe your style

SD: Our style is relaxed, and i guess quite creative/swag, not very anglo at all, its all about the layers in england. Obviously.

MFT: Do you wear rings/necklaces/bracelets?

SD: Zachary wears rings, he loves rings. We all wear earrings. Higgy loves chains, gold ones, round his neck.

(Austin)- Alice at mft had an awesome necklace from Eastern Mystic, its got a Buddha on a long chain (I’ve borrowed it from her on a non- return basis)

MFT: What jewellery do you like seeing on girls?

SD: I like seeing necklaces on girls, I have a thing for collar bones so necklaces are a sweet compliment. Zachary loves the By Rogue Byron Double Ring, he would wear that.

When we have to ourselves up, we’d vote violet darkling for cufflinks, the owl skull ones especially, they’re original and appeal to us young musician types as most cufflinks elsewhere seem to be traditional for the older, more affluent gentleman”

SD: I (austin) really like any of the 8.L.A necklaces, especially the Neo Bracelet.

Over at the My Flash Trash head quarters we have
been stalking www.citybrewed.com for quite some time, and couldn't resist the oppurtunity to have a quick chat with Ellie Eckert, the blogger herself!

Hi Ellie! So, what would you say is your favourite aspect of blogging?

My favorite part of fashion blogging would have to be the creative aspect of it. I love photographing and sharing things that inspire me with others. It’s amazing to have the ability to connect with people from all over the world who share the same interests!

What has been your favourite look of Fashion Week so far?

My favorite looks were definitely from the Nicholas K collection. I absolutely love how every piece had a very effortless vibe with basic shades. Neutral colors are usually my go to--I’m pretty laid back.

What are you wearing now?

On days like today when I don’t have classes or my internship, I tend to keep my outfit comfortable but cute. I’m wearing a pair of vintage trouser pants with an oversized cable knit sweater(from TopShop) and Nine West Martina pumps.

What you be your ultimate fashion wish?

Ultimately, I would love to write for a magazine like Nylon or Foam. I can’t get enough of the raw beauty in their photographs and the amazing styling in both of the publications.

And finally... Which is your favourite item on www.myflashtrash.com?

I absolutely love the Monster Ring by Philippe Cramer. I’m always drawn to dainty, beautiful pieces of jewelry, and this is something I would wear in a heartbeat.
