Glamour, Tatler, Vogue and Wonderland to name but a few are just some examples of the prestigious press Violet Darkling has recieved over the years, gaining them celebrity fans such as Rihanna, Jessica Szohr and Bip Ling. My Flash Trash just had to have some.

The genius behind the beauty of Violet Darkling is Louisa Richwhite. Louisa derives her inspiration from "darkness" , her childhood in New Zealand and all things nocturnal, which is evident in her elegant yet eclectic designs; skulls and pink gems, wolves with saphires for eyes. Louisa bas said that she has a desire to make life just a little more magical, and there is no denying she has done just that!

Rihanna making her Violet Darkling ring the epitome of edge with her bold hair and extravagant clothing, though the beautiful thing about Violet Darkling is that the jewellery speaks for itself. No matter how plain an ensemble you sport, a dose of Violet Darkling will instantly add edge, glamour and unique charm. Whether it be a necklace, bracelet, ring or even a pair of cufflinks, VK simultaneously remains stylish yet avante garde, gorgeous yet gothic and elegant yet dark.

Violet Darkling is one of our favourite unisex designer jewellery brands, and definitely one of the most distinctive. Wolves, Foxes, Spiders and Skulls are all made delectably delicious once combined with the delicate details and beautiful gems.

Black Rhodium, Rose gold, gold, sterling silver, yellow gold, blue Topaz, Citrine, Amethyst, and Tourmaline are some of the ingredients Violet Darkling use to conjure up such a definitive collection of intriguingly unique pieces. Offering suave cufflinks for men, as well as some equally masculine necklaces and rings - we can definitely think of a famous few that would make a gold owl necklace on dark brown waxed leather string look incredibly enticing, especially if piled on with some spider pendants, the famous Fossa designs and silver skulls.

 Buy now

It’s the juxtaposition that makes Violet Darkling so iconic, and their unique formula of gothic, glamour and modern style. The smooth, shiny, clean texture of the pieces lends itself a refreshingly modern aesthetic, as do the brightly coloured gems chosen to impose as eyes and bones for the delicate designs, though the fundamental foundations of the collections are primarily gothic, dark but beautiful. My Flash Trash have a feeling that the Brontë sisters would have loved to walk around the marshes flaunting the skull pendants, and wearing the Fossa ring while writing their next gothic installment of novels.

Though we’d prefer to wear them with a black dress to an event, or to make our jeans and jumper combination a little bit more exciting. Whether you need to dress up a day to day ensemble, or get the finishing touch for that red carpet worthy dress, Violet Darkling is at your service with. Their pieces are the perfect conversation the starter, the perfect eye catcher, the instant style updater. So, what will it be for you? A skull with a bow on a ring, or a wolf with purple eyes on a necklace? Get shopping.

The Woman in Violet Darkling

We hid behind our programmes during the theatre performance of The Woman in Black last year, and we hid behind our popcorn during the cinema showing of The Woman in Black today. Though, have we managed to find some unlikely style inspiration?

Creepy, gloomy, irredeemably tense and... Stylish? The film may have made us scream (a few times), but what we managed to see through very very squinted and sheilded eyes was a beautifully designed set, an amazing display of cinematography and an abundance of gothic influences. We're also ecstatic to see Daniel Radcliffe without a broom stick, and instead showing off some serious thespian skills rather than magic tricks.

We've picked some jewels that we think the Woman in Black herself would approve of. We're not saying you should roam around haunted houses and walk into marshes, but perhaps channel your inner goth a little. A Violet Darkling ring, or two, should do the trick.

Last night marked the finale of the second series of Made in Chelsea, and it sure went out with a bang! Amidst all the drama, the highlight of the show was the elegant and extravagant Roaring Twenties meets Great Gatsby themed birthday soiree – held by Francis Boulle and Marc Francis no less! The girls we’ve grown to love were dressed to the nines in sparkly flapper dresses and feathers galore! All that was missing was a touch of the achingly chic Gripoix collection – of Mark Francis fame!

Throughout the season the girls and guys of London’s most illustrious postcode have been sporting jewellery worth coveting, turning to the MyFlashTrash designers to adorn their looks. We’ve created a round up of the jewellery worn on the show and the casts’ favourites. From Binky’s treasured Thistle Double Ring by Anabel Campbell to Hugo’s effortlessly cool Joya bracelets, adding a downtown edge to his head-to-toe Ralph Lauren ensembles.

Although the stylish Chelsea set will be off our screens for some time, emulate their style and shop the cast’s jewellery picks – as seen on the show!

And with 20% off (when you enter the coupon code ‘ChelseaVIP’ at checkout) there’s no excuse to indulge in some treats, as beloved by the cast and celebrities alike.

The eclectic indie-grime-hiphop duo, made up of Harley and Jordan, have sent a ripple in both the music and fashion industries. With their undeniably British vibe and tongue in cheek lyrics, their off beat style reflects this. So it is no wonder that the duo of the moment turn to MyFlashTrash to adorn their wears.

Spotted in Typhoon Palace a couple of months ago at their private Soho House gig, their has been definite attention on how to emulate the effortless cool the pair exude. The selection of favourites, ranging from bohemian bracelets to snappy dressing cufflinks, is bound to add length to your wishlist, or your significant others.

Hand-woven in London, the Friendship Bracelet by Brandts features faceted, sparkly hematite beads in a smoky graphite colour, teamed with black leather cord and a handmade silver button.  This is a luxe take on the leather wrap bracelet, and the rich, smouldering hues of this bracelet make it a perfect choice for autumn/winter.

Embrace East London cool with an effortless edge with the Silver Leather Star Bracelet by heartthrob of the jewellery world, Tomasz Donocik.

For the snappy dressers amongst you, the Owl Skull Cufflinks – named 50th in GQ’s Best 100 this December – is the perfect touch of edge with a refined look. Scaled down from a genuine owl skull and beautifully designed to enhance your shirt. These cufflinks, from jewellery label Violet Darkling, are truly unique
and masculine.
