KEEP CALM & BUY BRITISH
Why it’s hot to be patriotic this summer.
2012 is Britain’s year - with the Diamond Jubilee, Olympics and Wimbledon, we are seeing the red, white and blue everywhere this summer, finally instilling some much needed patriotic pride into Britain once again.
Despite a crippling economy, unpromising weather and being hopeless at football, Britain has not lost it’s cheer. There’s an excitement in the air as the Olympics approach and the eyes of the world are upon our humble shores. Time to get battered by bunting and get flag waving.

And the best way to show some patriotic pride? Wear it of course.

Cannes Festival. One of the major fashion events in the calandar. We love nothing better than scrolling through Getty Images as the photographs roll in from the many photographers documenting the nine day long festival.
Our favourite dress so far has to go to the beautiful Diane Kruger in her mint green flowing dress. She paired the dress with simple diamond earrings and a matching bracelet which complimented her natural makeup and hairstyle.

Tilda Swinton wore her gold dress with minimal accessories only wearing rings on her fingers, similar to Virginie Ledoyen
who chose to wear her green dress with chandelier earrings.

Diane Kruger impressed us again and again with her style choosing to stick with her diamond watch and wear no other accessories, Frieda Pinto followered her lead too choosing to let the dress do the talking.

In celebration of World Fair Trade Day 2012 My Flash Trash are launching a range of poetry bracelets hand made in Guatemala featuring lines of poetry from up and coming Brit talent Greta Bellamacina.

These beautiful ethical handwoven bracelets support a local Guatemalan fair trade organisation with a percentage profits donated. Set to be a hit at this years festivals, fans include London's boho Portobello and Primose Hill set. Picking up on Summers South American Navajo Trend trend, give every outfit a poetic pocahontas edge.
Amber and Greta are best friends who were inspired on their travels together. Greta said: 'Traveling with Amber my trusty backpacker, has opened up a boundless world of all things unique.
I feel that poetry can capture the sensation and escape of exploring the unfamiliar- where the colliding worlds become alive.'
Amber and Great visted Guatemala and discovered the inspiring handwoven trade and met the locals. Their travels inspired them to work with local charities to help trade in the area. These bracelets will make you look good and feel good – what could be better?

A whirlwind day of flashing lights, pounding music, the highest of heels and the constant shouting of "Who are you wearing?!". We loved every second of it.
The My Flash Trash team headed down to Somerset House to watch a few shows, drink a little champagne and film the beautiful views: the outfits.

We hid behind our programmes during the theatre performance of The Woman in Black last year, and we hid behind our popcorn during the cinema showing of The Woman in Black today. Though, have we managed to find some unlikely style inspiration?

Creepy, gloomy, irredeemably tense and... Stylish? The film may have made us scream (a few times), but what we managed to see through very very squinted and sheilded eyes was a beautifully designed set, an amazing display of cinematography and an abundance of gothic influences. We're also ecstatic to see Daniel Radcliffe without a broom stick, and instead showing off some serious thespian skills rather than magic tricks.
We've picked some jewels that we think the Woman in Black herself would approve of. We're not saying you should roam around haunted houses and walk into marshes, but perhaps channel your inner goth a little. A Violet Darkling ring, or two, should do the trick.

It saddens us to say that New York Fashion Week ended as quick as it started... Though it excites us to say hello to London Fashion Week! Before we get all patriotic and proud, here's a round up of NYFW.
Needless to say, the Olsens are having a moment. Not only has Elizabeth Olsen found fame via some incredible indie credentials, her sister's (Mary-Kate and Ashley... You may have heard of them) brand is also receiving great reviews too! Did you ever wonder why there was a twin sized gap from your screens for the past few years? Well, it's simply because they've been harbouring a different talent. A stylish one at that.
The Elizabeth and James show was beautifully elegant and rather suave, and featured a trend we've spotted consistently throughout the shows: suits. See below for more trousery goodness from Nanette Lepore and Ralph Lauren.
Not only do we love the pefectly tailored array of velvet, silk and leather that was the Ralph Lauren show, we also (predictably so) spotted those jewels! Though, how could you not? Thankfully, we needn't look any further than our own treasure chest to achieve thise look! We'll be sure to be wearing some serious jewels during London Fashion Week!

The award season is in full swing, and My Flash Trash's ever present patriotism was put to good use last night while swooning over every aspect of the BAFTA's.
The men were dapper with George Clooney and Brad Pitt looking particularly suave (and warm) in their coats on the red carpet, and each and every single woman simply shone. Meryl Streep was as humble and understated as ever, Michelle Williams wore - wait for it - a H&M dress, and Miss Piggy even made an appearance. Who's style would you steal? Here are our favourite looks from the night!
Trend Spotted: Chokers

We love, love, love this trend. Putting an edge into elegance; chokers are the perfect way to stay simple and modern but simultaneously look irredeemably fashion forward! If even Miss Piggy can pull if off (no offence, Miss P) we're certain you can.

Lastly... Our favourite moment of the night!

She took home not one, not two... but SIX awards. She won every award she was nominated for. Furthermore, she even looked amazing. And you know exactly which icon we're talking about!

Adele was radiant, particularly due to those stunning studs on her ears! Clean cut silhouttes and statement pieces were prodominately present at the Grammys, and we aprove completely. Here are a few of our favourites:

Yet again, elegant earrings are making their way onto the red carpet. Simple, sophisticated and classic; you just can't go wrong with one of these pretty pairs.
