Monday 7th May saw the fash pack come out in force to celebrate the opening of the exhibition entitled: 'Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations'. As with every event like this several trends dominated and this year metallics were out in force on the red carpet.

Anja Rubik divided opinion in her Anthony Vaccarello slit dress where she showed off her hips... and almost a bit more. She wore her dress with some drop earrings, you can get this look with the Seretta Drop Pearl Earrings, £39.

Karolina Kurkova wore a Rachel Zoe floor length gold dress with a matching turban and accessoried with chunky bracelets, rings and earrings to make a bold statement. Get the look with a Culietta Chainmail Handlet, £55 and the LeiVanKash Apple Twig Braclet, £438.

Gwyneth Paltrow honoured the designer of the night, Prada, by wearing their own designs, pulling on this siler mini dress with cirular jewel entcrusted earings and some chunky rings. Get her look with the Love Bullet Grenade Ring, £31.

Kate Upton brought some sparkle to the evening in this floor length sequin gown wearing simple studs. Get the look with these Joanna Dahdah X Stud Earrings, £185.

Lana Del Rey wowed in Joseph Altuzarra with a floor length black cape over her shoulders reminicent of Gweneth Paltrow at the Oscars this year. Wearing a simple silver bracelet and stud earrings she let the dress do the talking. Get the look with these Zoe and Morgan Mini Liberty Studs, £55.

We lead a discussion on Twitter last night using the hashtag #IfIWentToTheMetBall and wanted you to tell us what you'd wear if you were going to the Met Ball. Amber Atherton, our founder told us that she would wear: 'I'd be wearing Antonio Berardi, Fendi Accessories and lots of geometric jewels from Lestie Lee!'. Tell us in the comments what you would wear, we'd love to hear from you!
